Sharing With One Another, Giving Back
MamaCents Makes a World of Change for ABC Families
Read Article on how you changed a life with your donation
Our Mamas, volunteers and staff have built lasting relationships that are about more than just sale days! We stay connected throughout the year and are also committed to community outreach and charitable contributions in the Central Texas area.
Here are just a few ways we work together and contribute throughout the year:
Community Outreach
One of the most wonderful things that comes from this sale is our ability to help families in need in our community. The consignors of MamaCents are given the option at each sale to donate items that do not sell to worthy charities. This generosity has blessed many families in so many ways. We do try to choose charities that help children and families that are struggling and truly in need.
Some of the organizations we support:
 Any Baby Can
At Any Baby Can, we believe that all children can reach their potential through education, therapy and family support services. Each year, the agency serves more than 6,000 of the youngest, sickest, and poorest children and their families in the Central Texas area. These children face a number of challenges to their well-being, including special health care needs, developmental delays, the danger of being abused or neglected, poverty, and the risk of not succeeding in school. The agency supports families and children with a continuum of evidence based best practices including both prevention and intervention strategies, overlaid with advocacy and support. Most intensive, individualized services are provided in the home, a proven effective method for sustained positive changes. The agency also provides center and community-based family literacy, tutoring, parenting education, and childbirth classes.
 B Club of Austin
Breast cancer treatment or electric bill?
Imagine having to make that choice. When you’re done shaking your head in disbelief, help people complete their treatment by hosting, sponsoring or volunteering with the b club. Every single dollar we raise goes to the Breast Cancer Emergency Support Fund (BCESF), providing short-term financial and social service support to Central Texans living with breast cancer.
(MamaCents, is proud to be able to donate a portion of the proceeds from our Consignment Sale to this great organization.)
American Red Cross of Central Texas
MamaCents LLC is honored to be able to help the Red Cross out in anyway possible. We will have donation cans at the check out and information on a great fundraiser they will be doing in April will be featured in an up and coming newsletter.
OUR MISSION
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Locally we assist 5-6 military families everyday either by contacting their deployed loved ones in the event of a family emergency or by helping them with financial assistance. We also respond to an emergency like a house fire (or the recent Echelon building plane crash) every 48 hours where we provide clothing, food, shelter, medications or mental health counseling to those affected by a disaster. And lastly we train thousands of your neighbors, co-workers and classmates in life saving skills such as First Aid, CPR, Water Safety and Babysitting Bootcamp.
Organizations we have supported in the past below
Project Suite Pea
Our mission is to use interior design to create beautiful and therapeutic living spaces for critically ill, injured, abused, neglected or emotionally distressed children who are in foster care, institutionalized or hospitalized. Our mission is to create these spaces free of charge for these children, through the volunteer efforts of our members. Our broader mission also includes organizing recreational activities for these children and supplying these children with clothing, toys and related items for their comfort and well being.
Austin Pregnancy Resource Center
Our moms are so very generous! Each sale they donate many items to the local maternity homes, after-care programs and pregnancy resource centers. MamaCents is blessed to be able to facilitate such a unique giving back program with the APRC. "Mothers making a world of change!"
Project Help
Project Help In collaboration with other AISD departments, local service providers and private partners, Project HELP (Homeless Education and Learning Program) assists students in temporary living situations due to crisis and/or economic hardship, to enroll, participate and succeed in school by providing basic needs and academic services as well as linking students and their families to key AISD and local community support services.
The Fairy Godmother Foundation
The Fairy Godmother Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to identify girls in Austin and the surrounding areas who despite many hardships would like to attend their Prom, Homecoming, or any special event that requires a formal dress but may not have the financial resources to do so.
DressForSuccess.org
